Beet, orange, lime, carrot, turmeric, pomegranate, pink Himalayan salt

500 ml of beet juice is effective in lowering blood pressure even more than some prescription drugs. This is believed to be achieved through the production of nitric oxide in the body, which causes blood vessels to relax, thus lowering blood pressure. According to a rodent study report in the December 2006 issue of the “Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry,” beet juice increased the excretion of bile acids and cholesterol. It is recommended that beet root is consumed, mixed with other vegetable juices, as too much beet juice consumed on its own is sometimes reported to cause tightness of vocal cords, rashes and beeturia, which is a reddening of the urine and stools.
Most sours are heating. Pomegranate  is a rare gem because of it’s sour, cooling and astringent qualities come together in one package. An excellent tonic for Pitta conditions in the GI tract. To counteract dryness in Vata pushing Pitta type digestive tract, add lime and a pinch of salt. Pomegranate is also used as a rejuvenator.
